The Case

Many SuperGuns, even commercially available ones, don't have a case. This provides a lot of flexibility as to where boards, power supply, etc. can be placed, but tends to end up a bit of a mess. Putting all the bits in a case tidies things up, but also adds to the cost: the case I used for this project was the actually the most expensive part! If you're not worried about encasing the PSU, you can get away with a much smaller (and cheaper) case. If you're good at wood and/or metal work, you might want to build yourself a case which could even house the joysticks and arcade boards.

Anyway, I used an off-the-shelf plastic desktop case with aluminium panels on the front and rear. Mounting the components is pretty much a matter of making holes for all the buttons, connectors, etc. and screwing it all together. I chose this particular case as it was large enough to mount my Neo-Geo MVS (a single-slot MV-1A) on top.
