Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128K

The 128K version of Sinclair's spectrum didn't take off quite as well as its predecesors, so these are not easy to find these days.

The Package

The Spectrum 128K package includes a new power supply, all necessary leads, two colour manuals (one of which being the Spectrum+ External link user guide) and even two 128K Specturm game cassettes.

The machine itself resembles the Specturm+ External link, featuring a large case and "proper" keyboard. The huge heat sink on the right draws excess warmth from the voltage regulator, and gets pretty hot!

Set-up

Thankfully, the 128K is still compatible with most existing Spectrum peripherals External link.

The 128K is shown here connected to a regular TV, but an extra port is provided for an RGB monitor.

Unlike previous Spectrums, this machine has no internal speaker. Its improved sound can be heard through the TV or by connecting up to the EAR socket.
