PDP-11/23 To-Do List

In order to keep track of all those odd jobs that need doing, I'm trying to keep a to-do list. Emergencies aside, the tasks will be executed in order of coolness.

Task Description Completed
Fix RL02 drive The problem has been diagnosed: I need a new sector transducer to get the second drive running. Just need to source one and swap it out.
[Update: found another drive to use for parts, swapped over the transducer and all's working fine.]

XXDP boot disk Running XXDP from a TU58 emulator (usually) works but is far from ideal. An XXDP boot disk on RL02 would be much better...
[The first incarnation was a cut-down version installed from the emulated TU58. The latest (and complete) installation was copied using VTServer, in a somewhat non-standard way.]

Get VTServer and RL02 working together Not sure why this doesn't work. VTServer is working OK, but selecting the RL02 as output device in the copy program causes the system to hang.
[This problem isn't solved for version 2.x yet, but 1.1 works fine.]

Replace foam parts The disintegrated old bits of foam in the chassis need to be replaced. Will need to source some bits of self-adhesive foam in correct thickness(es). Sound-proofing should be removed as it's crumbling and making a mess of the cabinet. If big enough bits of foam can be found, it can be replaced. -
RL02 air filters The coarse filters in the front of the RL02 drives have fallen apart and have been removed for now. They should be replaced. -
Boot code for DEQNA Ethernet card I think I've got the code, but I need to make an ODT-able version to be able to boot the card without ROM assistance. 02/05/2008
Hook up MFM disk(s) The RQDX3 and its RD32 disk need to be united, but I don't have the cables. I also don't have anything to hang them in the 19" cabinet... If I can't find a proper enclosure for the disk (such as a BA23) I'll probably set up a simple shelf with a PC power supply and fashion my own ribbon cable. 09/04/2008
Mount MFM disks in cabinet The disks and their power supply are currently just loose in the cabinet. I'm planning to mount them on a 19" shelf, maybe with a couple of cooling fans. -
