Choosing a TelescopeAs a relative beginner, I'm in no way qualified to give much advice concerning which telescope you should go out and spend your hard-earned cash on. I have however, not so long ago, gone through the same selection process as many a beginner may find themself in. Here are a few links to sites which I found useful when looking for my first scope. What I will say, however, is that a telescope can be a substantial investment, so make sure you do your homework before making any rash decisions. Many people quickly lose interest in this hobby due to poor equipment. One of the best ways to get a good idea of what's available is to drop by a local astronomy club or attend a public "Star Party", where you'll be able to try out many different scopes and get good advice from local experts.
